About Us
South Pacific Greens was founded by Glenn Johnson, who has been garden-based since 1996. He has a horticulture qualification from his past tending greens on golf-courses but now focuses on his home based nursery, film and event work.
South Pacific Greens aims to work with clients to provide them with greens solutions for their creative requirements, be it a domestic garden, a 600 person wedding, a feature film or a 30 second commercial.
A large selection of plants, specialising in the unique, is kept in our nursery. Not what you would find in a retail outlet.
Our collection is always expanding and we love the opportunity to source new stock.
Greens On Screen
Feature Films
Glenn has worked as a Greensman on numerous feature films including Australia, The Great Gatsby, The Wolverine, Where The Wild Things Are, The Dressmaker and many more.
He provides over 10 years of experience building greens sets, working on-set during shooting, co-ordinating teams, and realising the concepts of production designers and directors.
South Pacific Greens can also supply rental plants and pots for film productions.
Television
Glenn has been involved as a greensman on major television projects such as The Pacific (HBO), Gallipoli and The Secret River (ABC).
He was also responsible for maintaining the kitchen gardens for several series of MasterChef Australia.
Glenn often works full time on television productions, or on a casual basis for occasional greens set dressing.
South Pacific Greens offers a range of plant rental options for television productions.
Commercials
Making a television commercial presents its own kind of challenges.
From finding five intact dandelion seed heads after a massive rain storm, to creating a messy muddy soccer field on a dry summers day, TV commercials often require an experienced greensman on set.
Glenn is available to dress greens sets for commercials and can also provide plants from the South Pacific Greens nursery, or source specific plants as required.
